Content Designers will be UniqueCraft's primary source of improvement on the server.

Who?:

Content Designers will be tasked with the creation of new quests, items, storylines and zones of our server.
They will be doing this not through their own knowledge of WoW private server tools, such as SQL, Lua or C++, but instead through commands provided by UniqueCraft itself.

Who can become Content Designers?

Anybody! We want to bring out community and staff interaction with this group of unique developers.
Regular players will be able to apply and receive this staff position. While you will not be considered "true staff" you will have access to new perks such as: appear command, summon command (limited), content testing, and beta testing*.

What?:

Content Designers will assist developers with the ingame aspects of content creation, such as building the village needed for a new questing zone. Not only that, but Content Designers will all be guaranteed one completely new content addition created and directed by themselves. This could be as large as a completely new level zone or as small as a balanced item created by them. While you are only guaranteed this once, proven and trusted designers will be granted their own projects more frequently.


Content Designers will be treated as staff members, however, and the utmost respect and dignity is expected from them as well as all staff.

You must realize what is expected from you. Content Designers will be the face of our whole server. You shall be seen and talked to the most by both our community and staff members. Your work will also be on display for all of the community to see. If content does not meet the quality and creativity standards we see fit, it reflects poorly on UniqueCraft as a whole. As such, any and all content created by the designers can be deleted without warning or reason by the Administration team.

When?:

The greatest part of the Content Design team is when you work. The only time you will be required to work a certain amount of time is during large scale projects or your own projects. The rest of the time you can choose your working time.

(Note: Inactive designers will have the commands taken from them and it will be assumed they have retired. You will still keep all other perks that a Content Designer gets as listed in the "Why?" section. Retired Content Designers may rejoin the team if they were trusted and quality workers.)

Where?:

Your work space will be outlined by yourself on your own projects or the Administrator/Developer leading the project. These work spaces shall be the outlines of your building and design limits, and as such these limits can be bent in small amounts to meet the designer and or Administrator/Developer's needs.

Please note large work spaces (such as ones spanning multiple zones) must be approved before work can begin.

Why:?

Why are we creating this group? Many reasons. We have been in the private server game for quite a long time. We've learned from our past mistakes. This group fixes the problems we had previously.

For one, it drastically reduces the work load for developers. In the past we only had two to three developers. Naturally it was extremely burdensome and slow to have them both working on the back-end programming of a project and the ingame design of it as well.

Secondly, while many developers possess great programming and creativity, many lack the skill of ingame design to bring their ideas to life. This was a major problem, as it led to great ideas executed in an extremely poor way. With Content Designers we only have to focus on their ingame design skill and not their trivial knowledge of the back-end systems of the server.

Third, we want to get everyone involved. Instead of just the developers and myself contributing to serer lore and design, we can get everyone into this process. We feel this will bring a new depth to the server, making it so the players, not the staff, are in control of the servers development.

Lastly, we feel that with everyone contributing we can build the most unique and fun experience for players. Instead of the developers asking "What would the players like?" it will be the players saying "We want, and will create this." This will lead to a whole new level of experience for the players, developers may have a rough idea of what a player wants, but the players are the only ones who know for sure what is exciting for them and unique. Of course limitations will exist, but UniqueCraft will value you, the players, above all else.
